The XRP (Ripple) network is now live on Bron. This article explains how XRP works, what the reserve requirements are, and how to activate XRP-based tokens for your account.
1. How XRP Works on Bron
XRP itself does not require activation, but the network enforces a minimum reserve that is locked on your account and cannot be withdrawn. The reserve is calculated as follows:
Base reserve — 1 XRP is locked as the base account reserve.
Per-token reserve — an additional 0.2 XRP is locked for each active token on the account.
These funds are held by the XRP network itself and are not controlled by Bron.
2. Token Activation
Any XRP-based token must be activated before your account can receive deposits for that asset. If a token is not activated and someone sends funds to your address, the transaction will be rejected by the network.
To activate a token:
Step 1 — Go to Deposit and select your account.
Step 2 — Select Ripple (XRP) as the network from the dropdown.
Step 3 — You will see a list of all supported XRP tokens. Any token that has not been activated will show an Activate button next to it.
Step 4 — Click Activate on the token you wish to enable. A confirmation screen will appear — click Activate to confirm.
💡 Activation requires sufficient XRP in your account to cover the reserve cost (0.2 XRP per token). If your balance is too low, you will see an "Insufficient XRP balance for fees and reserve" error. Make sure you have enough XRP before activating additional tokens.
3. Swapping XRP
You can swap USDT or USDC on the Ethereum network into XRP using the Bron swap feature. This is the recommended way to fund your XRP account if you are starting from stablecoins.
💡 To swap, go to Swap in the Bron app, select USDT or USDC (Ethereum) as your source asset, and XRP as the destination.
4. Supported XRP Tokens
Bron currently supports 12 XRP-based tokens sourced from CoinMarketCap (top 5000), including Ripple USD, EUR CoinVertible, Phoenix, Coreum, VNX Swiss Franc, VNX Euro, XRP Healthcare, XRPayNet, XPMarket, Xrp Classic, and Sologenic.
💡 If you need a token that is not listed, it can be added manually. Contact our support team to request it.
