The Bron desktop app gives you full access to all Bron features — including transaction signing, which is not available in the web version. Because the app directly accesses your secure shards stored on your device, it lets you sign transactions safely and seamlessly.
Signing access in the Bron app is stored locally with your Microsoft account and protected by Windows Hello, which uses biometrics (facial recognition or fingerprint) or a PIN.
1. Download the Bron App
To install the desktop app, you first need to log in to app.bron.org using the web version.
If you are activating your Bron account for the first time, you can store your passkey on your Windows device.
If you have already used Bron on another device, log in with your existing passkey stored in a password manager or on your phone.
Once logged in:
Click on your avatar.
Select Bron app.
Choose Download for Windows and install the app.
2. Set Up Windows Hello
The Bron app requires Windows Hello to be configured on your device. If Windows Hello is not set up, you will see the following error message when trying to open the app:
Windows Hello is not configured on your system. Please configure Windows Hello in your settings (Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options) and try again.
You can configure:
Facial recognition + PIN
Fingerprint recognition + PIN
PIN only
⚠️ We strongly recommend using biometrics + PIN as a more secure option. Use the type of biometrics supported by your device.
To set up Windows Hello:
Open Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options.
2. Choose the biometric method supported by your device and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. At the final step, set a strong PIN and store it securely (for example, in a password manager).
Once configured, Windows Hello will protect your Bron signing access.
3. Open the Bron App
After installation, launch the Bron app.
On the first screen, set your master password. You’ll use this password every time you log in, so store it securely.
The app will then prompt you twice for biometrics, followed by authentication through your browser.
After this, the Bron app will open, and you can start using all its features.
If you have previously used the Bron app on another device, you’ll need to share your signing access from the old device to the new one before you can sign transactions.
