Bron Desktop App

Updated this week

You can now use Bron via a dedicated desktop application — available for both macOS and Windows.

Supported Operating Systems

To use the app, your device must support secure authentication:

  • macOS: Touch ID must be available and activated

  • Windows: Windows Hello with biometrics and/or PIN enabled

These are required to access our local MPC key shards, stored securely on your device.

Why Use the App?

The Bron desktop app gives you full access to all Bron features — including transaction signing, which is not available in the web version.

Because the app directly accesses your secure shards stored on your device, it lets you sign transactions safely and seamlessly.

Aside from transaction signing, the app and web version are functionally identical.

Is There Still a Web Version?

Yes. The web version of Bron is still fully available and will continue to be supported.

You can do everything in the web version except for signing transactions.

Can I Use Only the Web Version?

Yes, you can use Bron entirely in the browser as long as you don't need to sign transactions. The web application will remain available alongside the desktop application.

App Installation

You can download and install the Bron app directly from the user menu on top right corner in the web version, or during the initial account creation process. Simply follow the provided link to start the installation. It only takes a few minutes to set up and ensures secure local access to your shards.

App Updates

The Bron app updates automatically. When a new version is available, you'll see a notification window when you open the app:

You need administrator permissions to complete the installation.

You can also check for updates manually:

⚠️ Keeping your app up to date is critical for protecting your funds and personal data. Always install the latest version when prompted.
