What It Is
Energy is a TRON network resource. Transactions that run a smart contract — a USDT transfer, for example — consume Energy. If your account has none, the network burns TRX instead, so the same transfer costs you real money.
You get Energy by staking TRX. When you stake TRX in Bron, the stake earns protocol rewards and produces Energy at the same time. Your Energy balance is shown on the TRON asset page, under Staking → Energy.
You can do two things with that Energy:
Keep it — your TRON transactions consume Energy instead of burning TRX.
Stake it — delegate the Energy to a rental pool, where someone else spends it and pays for it. You are paid in TRX, at an estimated ~10.5% APR, while the same TRX keeps earning its normal staking rewards.
Energy staking is provided by TransaTron; the transaction is built by P2P.org.
Mobile. Everything starts with a TRX stake — the preview shows the 4.52% APY on the stake itself and the Energy it will generate on top.
Where to Find It
Energy lives on the TRON (TRX) asset page, in the Staking section. The Energy card shows your Available and Staked Energy and the Stake button.
If your Energy balance is 0, stake TRX first — Energy comes from the TRX stake. See Staking.
Desktop/Web
1. Open the TRON (TRX) asset page in your workspace.
2. Scroll to the Staking section.
3. Use the Stake button on the Energy card.
Desktop. The Energy card sits under Staking on the TRON asset page, with your Available and Staked Energy and the Stake button.
Mobile
1. On the dashboard, open TRON from the token list. To stake TRX first, tap More in the row of action buttons and then Earn, or use Stake on the TRON asset page.
2. Scroll down to the Staking section.
3. Tap Stake on the Energy card.
Mobile. On the dashboard, More opens Earn — the route to staking TRX. The token list below takes you straight to the TRON asset page.
Mobile. The TRON asset page: Stake among the action buttons, and the Staking section starting underneath.
Mobile. Scroll to Energy — 32 Energy available, none staked yet — and tap Stake.
How to Stake Energy
On the Energy card, tap or click Stake.
Enter the amount. You enter it in TRX and the screen shows how much Energy that TRX produces. Use the 25%, 50%, 75% or Max presets to fill it from your staked TRX. The minimum is 1 TRX.
Check Estimated APR and Lock period, then continue to the confirmation screen.
Review the Energy amount, the TRX behind it, the provider, the account and the network, then confirm.
Sign the transaction in the Bron Desktop App.
Mobile. Enter the amount in TRX — the line underneath converts it into Energy. The presets fill it from your staked TRX.
Desktop. The same form in one view: amount, the Energy it produces, the ~10.5% estimated APR and the 24-hour lock, then Preview.
Desktop. The stake lands in your transactions as a Stake deposit plus a Lock, and waits for your signature.
The transaction appears in your history as Stake, with a Stake deposit and a Lock step. Once it is confirmed, the Energy card moves the amount from Available to Staked and shows the date and time the lock ends.
Mobile. After confirmation: the Energy is staked and locked until a set time, and the rewards card reads Earning with Energy.
Staking and unstaking Energy are ordinary TRON transactions and cost about 0.3 TRX each. If your account has spare Energy, the network spends that first, exactly as it does for a normal TRX transfer.
If you have just staked TRX and the form says there is not enough delegatable Energy, wait about a minute — the provider needs time to see the new stake.
⚠️ Staked Energy is locked for 24 hours. You cannot unstake it during this period.
What You Earn
You earn TRX — ordinary TRX in your account, which you can send, swap or stake again like any other balance. You are not paid in Energy.
Energy rental rewards and TRX staking rewards are two separate things and you get both from the same TRX. The estimated ~10.5% APR is the Energy part only: delegate the Energy of 100 TRX and it earns roughly 10.5 TRX over a year, on top of the staking rewards those 100 TRX already earn. The rate is an estimate — it depends on demand for Energy on the network and is not guaranteed.
The provider sends the rewards to your account itself; there is nothing to claim. But it only sends them once they reach 100 TRX, so on a small stake the first payout can take a long time. Until then nothing arrives in your balance, and the Energy rewards line shows what has already been paid out, not what is still accruing.
While your Energy is delegated, the Rewards earned card is marked Earning with Energy. Open Show breakdown on mobile, or read the Rewards card on desktop, to see Staking rewards and Energy rewards as two separate lines with a combined total.
Unstaking Energy
After the 24-hour lock ends, open the Energy card and choose Unstake Energy. It takes effect immediately. While the lock is active, the card shows the date and time it ends.
The Energy comes back spent: whoever rented it has used it, and TRON regenerates Energy over about 24 hours. So you cannot stake it again or spend it on your own transactions right away — wait a day for it to build back up.
You do not have to wait for that to unstake your TRX. Unstake the Energy, then start the TRX unstake straight away — TRON's own 14-day waiting period on the TRX runs from that moment.
Using Energy Instead of Staking It
You do not have to stake Energy. Energy sitting in your Available balance is used automatically by the network when you send a TRON transaction, which lowers what you pay in TRX.
Staked Energy is not yours to use — that is the whole point of renting it out: someone else spends it. For an account that sends USDT on TRON regularly, keeping the Energy can be worth more than the rental reward.
If you have no Energy and no TRX for the fee at all, see Power Bank.
⚠️ Network fees apply when staking and unstaking Energy.
Rewards are variable and depend on network conditions and demand for Energy. Past reward rates are not indicative of future performance. Bron does not guarantee any specific return.
Bron is a non-custodial software interface. Bron does not operate as a staking service provider, broker, exchange, dealer, market maker, or custodian, and does not hold, manage, or control user assets at any time. Where staking is facilitated through a third-party provider (such as TransaTron or P2P), Bron does not control, audit, or guarantee the performance of that provider.
